
New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme
The New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme attracts asset owners to settle in the city and explore diverse investment opportunities. Managed by Invest Hong Kong, the New CIES Office assesses financial assets and compliance, while the Immigration Department handles visa applications and extensions.

- Eligible to apply for permanent residence after seven years
Quality Migrant Admission Scheme
Applicants must meet prerequisites to earn points in one of two tests (Talent List candidates get bonus points):
- General Points Test: Requires 80/225 points across age, qualifications, work experience, language skills, and family background.
- Achievement-Based Points Test: Awards 225 points for exceptional achievements (e.g., Olympic medals, Nobel Prizes) or significant contributions to their field. Failure to meet criteria results in rejection.
- Pre-requisites:
- Aged 18 or above
- Have a good education background, typically a first degree
- Proficient in written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) or English.

Entrepreneur Visa
Apply to enter or stay in HKSAR as an entrepreneur under the GEP if you:
- Have a good education background, typically a first degree.
- Establish or join a start-up contributing significantly to Hong Kong’s economy. Key factors include business plan, turnover, financial resources, job creation, and new technology or skills.
- Overseas Chinese nationals with PRC passports can apply if they meet the criteria and have permanent residence overseas or have resided overseas for at least one year before applying. ('Overseas' excludes mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR.)
- Includes spouse and children under the age of 18 and they are free to work and study in the HKSAR
- Processing time of about four weeks
